COMDANCE is one of the world’s great international dance societies which has now been training and qualifying dancers all over the world for over 90 years.  DanSing is proud to become associated with this dance society and this will open opportunities for our students to learn accredited syllabus and to gain accreditation and qualifications in dance.

I am pleased to announce that this is now currently being rolled out and in the coming weeks and months the students will begin to learn the exercises and dances required to sit dance examinations at their various levels.  If your student is currently enrolled in jazz, tap or ballet they will be taught the syllabus alongside the things they have already been currently learning in their classes.  Once the students have learnt what is required of their prospective levels, they will be invited to participate in an exam where an external examiner visits the studio, watches the students, writes a report and awards them a grade.  They will then be awarded a certificate and medal.

These exams are held in approximately June and October each year depending on when the students are ready.  Sitting the exams will not be compulsory but will be highly recommended and encouraged. Participating in exam preparation and sitting exams will strengthen the students technique which will in turn improve their overall dancing as well as their performance skills. Preparing for exams and learning syllabus also provides benchmarks to aim for and additional goals to work towards throughout their dancing year.  These exams will potentially also open the door for students to train to be dance teachers and being members of COMDANCE also provides DanSing the opportunity to perform at QPAC each year at the COMDANCE convention alongside many other dance schools who also participate in these exams around the city.  Participating in COMDANCE exams will improve student confidence and give the student a sense of achievement, pride and accomplishment.  If you would like your student to participate in COMDANCE exams, please enrol in one of the following classes if you are not already.
